Service Awards

Service awards recognise the years of active service members have given to the Umpires Association and to umpiring in the Capital Region.

Service awards are granted for multiples of 5 years’ active service. A new award is given for each multiple, so 5 years’, 10 years’, 15 years’, and so on. Service need not have been consecutive, but must simply add up to the next multiple of 5.

Service awards were established in 2008, and have only been awarded to umpires who were active from the time of establishment onwards. This means that a member who retired before 2008 will not have received a service award, but those who were still active in 2008 will be recognised for their entire length of service.
